The Journey is the Reward

Writer: Shari Shari

Wow! One year ago I took a leap and decided I needed to add one more thing to my plate. I may not have hundreds of subscribers to this blog, hell, I don't think I've even hit 20 to be honest, but I know you guys read it and that's all I really care about.

I'm always crazy nervous to start something new because deep down I feel like I'm going to fail. I think we all can feel that way right? If I'm going to be completely honest, sometimes I do feel like I've failed {well a lot of things, but were talking blogging!} because I don't see my content shared, there's not comments on all of my posts and because I DON'T have many subscribers. Let me dig deeper into this for you. {you knew that was coming 😊}

I'm a huge advocate on sharing any and everything I find full of value. Whether it be a quote, story, blog, reel, meme, product, you name it. I will share it if I find it helped me in some way or it made me think of someone I know and I want them to see it. I also share these things because the person that created it put time and effort into whatever it was and if it meant enough to them to share it with the world and had an impact on me, I feel I need to share it with MY world!

Sometimes when I see something, I think about leaving a comment to tell the author my thoughts. What I enjoyed, what I maybe didn't agree with, but sometimes after I type it all out, I delete it because I don't want the author or someone else who is reading the comments to disagree with me or think that I'm being rude. Has anyone ever done this and know what I mean? I've gotten better about it recently because if you can't take someone's opinion or constructive criticism, then you shouldn't share stuff on social media. So please, please leave me comments and tell me your thoughts! I want to know the types of things y'all enjoy and the things that maybe you don't so much.

Do you hate when you want something free from a website so you sign up for it with your email and then there's a never ending supply of obnoxious emails that come to you that you never even open?! Me too. Good news though, when you sign up with Single Write Female, you only get an email when there's important things happening. Things like "hey, there's a brand new post!" Or "hey, there's a reply to your comment." I hate spam, so why would I choose to spam you? Unless you guys want a monthly or bi-monthly email from me, that's totally something I can do! {this is the part where you'd have to comment to let me know. 😜}

A year later, I can say with 100 percent certainty that I'm glad I decided to start this and I hope you are too. I don't know how many or if I've even helped anyone along this journey so far but there's still so much more of it to go.....
